6/14 ユニット2
コエダス・アドバンスを往復3時間の通勤で毎日聴いています。日曜日に山の中で歩きながら声も出しました。やはり、リピート、ロール・プレイ、シャドウイングなどの練習には声を出すことが効果的に思われます。着実に進歩していることを実感です。特に、聞き取り、ヒアリングが以前より出来るようになっているなと我ながら感じています。これは本当にiPodのおかげだと思います。iPodで英語MP3音源であるVOA.com/WordMaster、特にLida Bakerの声を毎日聴いていることが大きなポイントに違いありません。
というわけで、コエダス・アドバンスですが、1ヶ月に8ユニットありますので、1週に2ユニットの勘定になります。ユニット2のskitは以下のようなものです。赤字のところがこのユニットの重要表現を示しています。否定的な発言をする、ということようです。
Susan: Say Mamo, would you like to go to a basketball game next Suturday?
Mamoru: Basketball? Thanks, Susan, but I'm not into basketball.
Susan: Really? Why not?
Mamoru: Well, for me, basketball is too fast and too difficult to watch. Baseball's what I like.
Susan: Baseball? I think baseball's boring compared to basketball.
Mamoru: I don't agree with you. Baseball is very exciting.
Susan: But there's too much waiting. Nobody fights for the ball like in basketball.
Mamoru: But that's not the point. Baseball's an elegant game. That's why I love it.
Susan: Hmm... Maybe I should give baseball another chance.
